Saturday 27th April 1963: Potter Heigham - Martham

2.5 miles
Wind: South West Force 3
Sunny

The boat was roused at 07.30hrs and breakfast cooked and eaten within an hour. The awning was lowered and made ready for sailing.

At 09.00hrs the Mate and Cook put their bags ashore and then helped hoist sail. They stood waving on the bank as Vagabond ran with the wind up the Thurne to Martham. It was a peaceful sail and Martham was reached at 09.35hrs.

The Captain, Bottlewasher and Dog moored Vagabond at her berth and then humped their bags on their backs, said a last goodbye to the stout ship which had been their home for the past week and walked down the lane back to home and work . . . .
